Dr. Tracey Lion-Cachet is a licensed clinical psychologist (PSY 35405) specializing in therapy for children, adolescents, families, and couples. She utilizes goal-oriented, evidenced-based practices for the treatment of avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), phobias, school refusal, oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), behavioral management for ADHD, parenting challenges, and marital discord. Dr. Lion-Cachet received her training in exposure and response prevention (ERP) from the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety. She also has specialized training in SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions), FBT (family-based therapy) for eating disorders, and EFT (emotionally focused therapy).

Dr. Lion-Cachet received her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP), San Francisco. She completed an APA-accredited internship at Kaiser Permanente, Oakland, with a specialization in pediatric and adult crisis services, ADHD assessment, and acute care psychology. Her postdoctoral residency was in child and family services at Kaiser Permanente, Walnut Creek. She recently transitioned into private practice from a full-time position at Kaiser Permanente, Pleasant Hill, where she worked in the child and adolescent eating disorders department.

Dr. Lion-Cachet’s treatment approach includes brain-based techniques informed by research on neuroplasticity, the brain’s ability to structurally change in response to repeated experiences and behaviors. She is passionate about effecting change in children and adolescents by making her sessions engaging and interesting, with the belief that educating young people about how their brains work empowers them to make meaningful changes toward improved mental health.
