PACIFIC ANXIETY GROUP
Fees and Insurance
We know that starting therapy is an important decision—both personally and financially. We’re committed to providing high-quality, evidence-based care, and we believe that transparency about fees and insurance is an important part of building trust.
On this page, you’ll find information about our session fees, insurance billing, and payment options. If you have any questions, we’re always happy to talk through the details and help you understand what to expect.
Understanding Therapy Fees and Insurance
-
Session fees at Pacific Anxiety Group vary depending on provider and service. Fees for specialty services—such as assessment, extended sessions, or consultations—may differ and will be discussed with you in advance.
Licensed Clinicians:
Initial Appointment: $420+
45-Minute Therapy Session: $320+
60-Minute Therapy Session: $395+
Doctoral-Level Clinicians in Training (5+ years experience):
Initial Appointment: $395+
45-Minute Therapy Session: $295+
60-Minute Therapy Session: $370+
We also offer lower-fee treatment with our master’s level clinicians-in-training.
Pacific Anxiety Group is pleased to be in-network with Aetna insurance. We are also in-network for Stanford students with Wellfleet Insurance. We are out-of-network with all other insurance providers.
For self-pay clients, payment is due at the time of service and may be made using a credit card, HSA, or FSA. Because your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you, we kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice will be subject to the full session fee.

We are pleased to be in-network for psychotherapy for clients with Aetna Insurance plans within California.
If you have Aetna insurance, we will bill your insurance directly. You will only be responsible for any copayments, coinsurance, or deductibles determined by your plan.
Sign up for a phone consultation to learn more about using your Aetna insurance at the Pacific Anxiety Group.
Please note that we do not accept Aetna Medicare plans.
-
We're excited to announce that Pacific Anxiety Group is now in-network for Stanford students with Wellfleet Insurance. If you have Wellfleet coverage, you can access our therapy services at your in-network rates.
Schedule a phone consultation to learn more about how we can support you. We’ll attempt to verify your Wellfleet coverage, but we always recommend reaching out to Wellfleet directly to verify coverage.
-
Individuals who don’t have Aetna insurance are considered self-pay and will pay directly for treatment. You may be able to use your out-of-network benefits to receive full or partial reimbursement for session fees. In this case, you would pay for sessions up front as a self-pay client and submit claims directly to your insurance company. We’re happy to provide a monthly superbill (an itemized receipt) to support this process.
To learn more about your out-of-network coverage for psychotherapy, we recommend contacting your insurance company prior to initiating therapy. Some questions to ask:
How much coverage is available for out-of-network providers? For example, does the insurance plan reimburse for the full session or a percentage of the total fee?
Does the insurance plan set limits on the total number of visits/sessions per calendar year?
Do they set limits on the total amount reimbursed per session? If so, ask how much they reimburse for the following "CPT Codes", otherwise known as a procedure codes:
90791 (the first intake appointment)
90834 (a typical 45-minute individual psychotherapy session)
90837 (an extended 60-minute individual psychotherapy session)
90847 (couples or family therapy, 50 minutes)

For clients looking for lower cost treatment options, we have master’s level therapists-in-training available to work with you.

The clinicians at PAG are not part of Medicare, and our services are not reimbursable by Medicare plans. We are also not considered in-network with Aetna Medicare plans.
