Group Treatment at Pacific Anxiety Group
Evidence-Based, Supportive, and Effective
Group therapy is a powerful and highly effective form of treatment. Our groups are grounded in evidence-based approaches and designed to help you make meaningful, lasting changes—whether you participate on their own or alongside individual therapy.
In a group setting, you’ll work with a skilled clinician and a small group of individuals who may be facing similar challenges. This creates a supportive, structured environment where you can learn practical tools, gain new perspectives, and feel less alone in what you’re going through.
Why Group Therapy Works
Research consistently shows that group therapy can be just as effective as individual therapy for many concerns, including anxiety, OCD, depression, and stress-related difficulties.
Group therapy offers unique benefits that individual therapy alone may not provide:
Shared understanding – Connecting with others who “get it” can reduce isolation and foster a sense of belonging
Real-time learning – Practice new skills, communication strategies, and coping tools in a supportive environment
Multiple perspectives – Gain insight and feedback from both your therapist and other group members
Accountability and momentum – Groups provide structure and encouragement to help you stay engaged in your progress
Flexible Treatment Option
Our groups are designed to meet you where you are:
As a standalone treatment – Many clients experience significant improvement through group therapy alone
Alongside individual therapy – Groups can deepen and accelerate the work you’re doing in individual sessions
Your clinician can help determine whether a group, individual therapy, or a combination of both would be the best fit for your goals.
Structured, Skills-Based Care
All of our groups are led by experienced clinicians and follow structured, evidence-based models such as:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Mindfulness-based approaches
Each group is thoughtfully designed to provide clear skills, practical strategies, and opportunities for real-world application.
A Supportive, Thoughtful Environment
We take care to create groups that feel safe, respectful, and engaging. Our clinicians actively guide each session to ensure that all members feel supported and that the group remains focused, productive, and aligned with treatment goals.
If you’re interested in learning more about our current groups or whether a group might be a good fit for you, we’d be happy to help.
