Our Story

The PAG leadership team — Kate, Laura, Rob, and Tam — came together in 2011 with a shared goal: to build a clinic grounded in evidence-based care, clinical excellence, and genuine compassion. Having all worked and trained at Stanford University, we envisioned creating a place where clients could access effective treatment for anxiety, stress, and low mood, delivered by highly-trained, doctoral-level clinicians who felt equally supported and inspired. From the beginning, we were committed to integrating cutting-edge psychotherapy with a warm, collaborative professional culture — and we’ve been growing that vision ever since.

Our Clinical and Academic Foundations

As psychologists trained in academic and research-based settings, we bring a deep respect for clinical science to everything we do. We’ve spent decades teaching, supervising, and mentoring trainees, and we remain actively engaged in research and professional collaboration. Our practice continues to be shaped by the latest advances in treatment — but always with an emphasis on warmth, humility, and respect for each client’s individual path.

Our Growth and Evolution

What started as a small team of Stanford-affiliated psychologists in the Menlo Park area has since grown into a multi-site group practice with locations throughout the Bay Area and a telehealth presence throughout California. Along the way, we’ve expanded our areas of expertise, welcomed new clinicians trained in a range of evidence-based therapies, and deepened our commitment to serving individuals, couples, children, and families.

As we have evolved, our expertise has deepened and expanded. While treating anxiety, stress, and burnout remain core areas of expertise, our team now offers a full spectrum of psychotherapy services for adults, teens, children, couples, and families. Our clinicians bring diverse training and specialization in areas such as depression, trauma, relationship challenges, parenting, life transitions, and identity concerns. As we’ve grown, so has our ability to meet a broader range of client needs — all while staying true to our foundation in evidence-based, compassionate care.

Why We’re Different

At PAG, we remain a psychologist-founded practice committed to attracting top-tier, doctoral-level psychologists and delivering the highest quality care. Unlike corporate-backed, telehealth practices, we are not driven by investors or profit margins — we are guided by relationships: with our clients, our team, and the broader professional community. And unlike telehealth-only practices, we offer in-person sessions at our Bay Area offices and secure video therapy throughout California — because we believe clients deserve choice, flexibility, and a real connection with their provider.

Our leadership team remains deeply engaged in the day-to-day life of the practice — supervising clinicians, mentoring trainees, developing our educational mission, and welcoming new clients. Our vision is to continue growing a thriving, values-driven practice where clients receive expert, compassionate care, and where clinicians feel supported, inspired, and surrounded by a team of equally dedicated professionals.

Looking Ahead

We are proud of what PAG has become — and we’re still growing. Our focus moving forward is to continue supporting our experienced and talented team, expanding access to high-quality care, and staying rooted in the values that brought us together: clinical excellence, human connection, and a deep belief in the power of therapy to change lives.
