Dr. Sharon Stovezky is a postdoctoral fellow working under the supervision of Drs. Amelia Yu Psy.D., and Luma Muhtadie, Ph.D. She specializes in treating PTSD, complex trauma, emotion dysregulation, relational stress, anxiety, and depression. Dr. Stovezky’s style is warm, active, and genuine. She is dedicated to helping clients clarify their core values, process impactful past events, and build meaningful, vital lives.
Dr. Stovezky’s clinical approach is rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and she flexibly integrates this approach with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), relational therapy, mindfulness, and others. Dr. Stovezky is experienced in several evidence-based interventions for trauma-related issues, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Written Exposure Therapy (WET), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). She has experience working with adults, children, and adolescents.
Dr. Stovezky received her Psy.D. in clinical psychology from the Wright Institute, where her doctoral research focused on integrating multiple therapeutic approaches to improve treatment efficacy for trauma-related disorders. She completed her predoctoral internship at Kaiser Permanente, San Rafael, and has trained across diverse clinical settings, including Veterans Affairs hospital systems, outpatient psychiatry clinics, and trauma-focused community mental health centers.
