JacquelinE Nguyen, Psy.D.
Dr. Jacqueline Nguyen is a licensed psychologist (PSY29445) who specializes in working with children and adolescents. She uses a collaborative, strengths-based approach to address mood and anxiety disorders, stress, and coping concerns related to acute or chronic medical conditions. She individualizes treatment to each child in order to help reduce distress and improve quality of life and everyday functioning.
Dr. Nguyen graduated with honors from the University of California, Davis with a B.S. in Psychology. She attended the PGSP-Stanford Psy.D. Consortium where she obtained her M.S. and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology. During graduate school, she trained at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital and the Stanford Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic. She also has experience working in community mental health and school settings. She completed her APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine/Jackson Health System and her post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School/Boston Children’s Hospital where she further developed her specialization providing psychotherapy to medically vulnerable children and adolescents. She has extensive experience utilizing evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), biofeedback-assisted relaxation training, and parent training in order to help patients and families accomplish their therapy goals.
In addition to her work at the Pacific Anxiety Group, Dr. Nguyen is a staff psychologist at the Morrissey-Compton Educational Center where she conducts comprehensive psychological assessments.
