Dr. Kogan is a licensed psychologist (PSY29806), who works with adults and couples. Dr. Kogan helps her clients address issues of anxiety, stress, depression, adjustment to life transitions and illness, as well as relationship difficulties. Dr. Kogan’s therapeutic style is empathic and collaborative and is rooted in evidence-based approaches.  Dr. Kogan draws on her clients’ strengths to help them get “unstuck” from unhelpful patterns in their lives, alleviate emotional suffering, clarify goals and values, and remove obstacles to living a more satisfying and meaningful life. In her work with couples, Dr. Kogan helps partners identify problematic patterns in their interactions, examine emotional undercurrents, increase empathy, improve communication, and take steps towards a more rewarding and fulfilling relationship.

Dr. Kogan received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Arizona, where her research focused on examining the interplay between emotions, relationships, and health. Dr. Kogan completed her clinical internship at the San Francisco VA Medical Center, and she was also a postdoctoral fellow at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System. Over the course of her education, Dr. Kogan received extensive training in multiple empirically-supported treatments, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and systemic, structural, and emotion-focused approaches to working with individuals, couples and families. Dr. Kogan has been also trained in using cognitive-behavioral and acceptance-based approaches to address health issues such as insomnia, tinnitus, and chronic pain.
