Dr. Julia Corcoran is a licensed clinical psychologist (PSY28591) with experience in the treatment of anxiety, depression, and periods of transition and change across the lifespan, including new mothers, adolescents and young adults, older adults, and professionals seeking career advancement or change. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Narrative Therapy, among others. Dr. Julia Corcoran completed clinical training at the Palo Alto VA, Stanford Psychiatry and Hospital, San Jose Job Corps, Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services, and El Camino Hospital, which included in-office and field-based community mental health services, intensive outpatient programs, and outpatient clinics.

Dr. Julia Corcoran provides coaching and program development as a Lead Coach at BetterUp, Inc., a startup delivering career and performance coaching for young professionals looking to advance in their careers through personal and professional growth. In addition, Dr. Julia Corcoran is Adjunct Faculty at Palo Alto University in the Business Psychology Bachelor’s Degree program, where she serves as an instructor and student advisor, and provides some program-level administrative support.


Dr. Julia Corcoran completed her predoctoral internship at Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services in Los Angeles, and received her Psy.D. from the PGSP-Stanford Psy.D. Consortium.

Dr. Julia Corcoran’s approach to therapy involves both the individual client as well as family and social support when possible, and assumes the client has many existing strengths which can be used to overcome distress, and improve well-being and functioning.
